The Accu-Chek® Instant S is a compact, easy-to-use blood glucose meter from Roche Diabetes Care that delivers results in under 4 seconds with no setup required. Compatible with Accu-Chek Instant test strips — the same strips used by the Bluetooth-enabled Accu-Chek Instant — it features easy-edge test strips with a wide, yellow dosing area that makes blood application straightforward and reduces errors from insufficient samples.
A customisable target range indicator visually classifies each result relative to individual therapy goals — providing at-a-glance feedback without requiring the user to interpret a number alone. Up to 720 blood glucose results are stored with date and time stamps, alongside 7, 30, and 90-day averages. Data can be transferred via USB (micro-B connector) to the Accu-Chek Connect Online portal for comprehensive diabetes data management and reporting.
The Instant S is compatible with the Accu-Chek Softclix and Safe-T-Pro lancing devices for comfortable testing. A single CR2032 coin cell battery powers the device. Dimensions: 77.1 × 48.6 × 15.3 mm.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is the difference between the Accu-Chek Instant S and the Accu-Chek Instant?
Both use the same Accu-Chek Instant test strips and deliver results in under 4 seconds. The key difference is connectivity: the Accu-Chek Instant has Bluetooth Low Energy and syncs automatically with the mySugr app. The Instant S uses USB only and transfers data to the Accu-Chek Connect Online portal. The Instant S also has a slightly different averaging period set (7/30/90-day vs 7/14/30/90-day for the Instant). Choose the Instant S if USB-based PC data management is preferred; choose the Instant for automatic smartphone syncing via Bluetooth.
What is the Accu-Chek Connect Online portal?
Accu-Chek Connect Online is a web-based diabetes data management portal provided by Roche. After connecting the Instant S to a PC via USB, glucose data is uploaded and can be viewed as logbooks, graphs, and reports — useful for sharing with healthcare providers and tracking trends over time.
Does the Accu-Chek Instant S require coding or setup?
No coding or setup is required. Simply insert an Accu-Chek Instant test strip and apply blood — the meter is ready to use immediately out of the box. The target range indicator can optionally be customised to individual therapy goals.
