The Atom AT-940 is a manual aneroid sphygmomanometer designed for accurate, reliable auscultatory blood pressure measurement in home and clinical settings. Constructed with a zinc alloy body and non-stop manometer mechanism for lasting durability, it features a large, easy-to-read dial and a smooth pressure relief valve with a metal air needle for controlled, precise deflation during measurement.

The universal extra-durable nylon cuff with Velcro strip fits arm circumferences of 22 to 42 cm and is designed to support one-handed application — particularly convenient in single-user or self-monitoring scenarios. A supercharger check valve with a reticulated filter provides protection against dust buildup inside the inflation pathway, helping to maintain long-term performance. The lightweight, portable design is complemented by a sturdy carrying case for protection and convenience. A 12-month warranty is included.

Why Choose Atom Sphygmomanometer

  • Large Easy-to-Read Dial: Clear, large number dial for easy readability during auscultatory measurement.
  • Smooth Pressure Relief Valve: Metal air needle valve provides precise, smooth deflation control for accurate Korotkoff sound auscultation.
  • Dust Protection Filter: Supercharger check valve with reticulated filter prevents dust ingress that could affect long-term performance.
  • Carrying Case Included: Sturdy, portable case for protected transport and storage.
  • 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a one-year warranty from Atom.
  • For Clinical and Home Use: Suitable for healthcare professionals and trained home users.

Usage Instructions

  1. Have the patient rest for at least 5 minutes. Seat them with feet flat and the arm at heart level.
  2. Wrap the universal cuff around the upper left arm, 2–3 cm above the elbow. Secure the Velcro closure snugly.
  3. Place the stethoscope diaphragm over the brachial artery below the cuff edge.
  4. Close the pressure relief valve and inflate the cuff to approximately 30 mmHg above the expected systolic pressure.
  5. Open the valve slowly (2–3 mmHg per second). Listen for the first Korotkoff sound — this is the systolic reading on the dial.
  6. Continue deflating. Note where sounds disappear — this is the diastolic reading. Record both values.
  7. Fully deflate, remove the cuff, and return the device to its carrying case.

Warnings and Precautions

  • This is a manual auscultatory device requiring clinical training for accurate use — not suitable for untrained home users.
  • A stethoscope is required for measurement — not included with this device.
  • Have the device calibrated periodically by a qualified technician to maintain accuracy.
  • Do not over-inflate beyond safe pressure limits.
  • Ensure the bladder is fully deflated before each new measurement.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is the AT-940 a mercury or aneroid device?

The AT-940 is an aneroid sphygmomanometer — it uses a zinc alloy dial mechanism rather than a mercury column to measure pressure. Aneroid devices are lighter, more portable, and safer to handle than mercury devices, while still providing accurate auscultatory blood pressure readings when properly calibrated and used.

What arm sizes does the cuff fit?

The universal cuff fits arm circumferences from 22 to 42 cm — covering most adult arm sizes in a single cuff.

Is a stethoscope included?

No. A stethoscope is required for auscultatory measurement but is not included with this device.

What warranty does the AT-940 come with?

The Atom AT-940 is backed by a 12-month warranty.
