The Certeza CR-1004 is a large dial aneroid sphygmomanometer designed for use by healthcare professionals and trained users who benefit from an oversized, highly legible gauge. The 57×76mm milky white and deep blue manometer display — larger than the standard 52mm round gauge on the CR-1002 — provides significantly improved readability during auscultatory blood pressure measurement, particularly in clinical settings where the gauge may need to be read at a distance or angle.
The gauge body combines a durable zinc alloy back with an ABS plastic front, balancing robustness with weight efficiency. A stop pin prevents over-inflation beyond the safe pressure limit. The grey cotton cuff with an artery label assists correct anatomical positioning, and the dual-tube latex bladder provides consistent, even pressure across the arm. The chrome-plated brass air release valve with spring and standard end valve delivers smooth, controlled deflation. Cuff fits arm circumferences of 27–40 cm (bladder size 22×12 cm). Accuracy is ±3 mmHg across the 0–300 mmHg measurement range.
Why Choose Certeza Sphygmomanometer

Usage Instructions
- Have the patient rest for at least 5 minutes. Seat them with feet flat on the floor and the arm at heart level.
- Wrap the cuff snugly around the upper left arm, 2–3 cm above the elbow. Align the artery label with the brachial artery.
- Position the stethoscope diaphragm over the brachial artery, below the cuff edge.
- Close the air release valve and inflate to approximately 30 mmHg above the expected systolic pressure.
- Open the valve slowly (2–3 mmHg per second). Note the pressure when the first Korotkoff sound is heard — this is the systolic reading.
- Continue deflating. Note the pressure when sounds disappear — this is the diastolic reading.
- Release all remaining pressure. Record the readings.
Warnings and Precautions
- This is a manual auscultatory device — proper clinical training is required for accurate readings.
- Do not over-inflate beyond the stop pin pressure limit.
- Ensure the bladder is fully deflated before each new measurement.
- A stethoscope is required but not included.
- Have the device calibrated periodically by a qualified technician.

Frequently Asked Questions
How does the CR-1004 differ from the CR-1002?
The CR-1004 features a significantly larger 57×76mm dial (vs 52mm round on the CR-1002) for improved readability in clinical settings. It also uses a cotton cuff and latex bulb/bladder rather than the nylon cuff and PVC construction of the CR-1002, and has a two-tone milky white and deep blue gauge face. The CR-1002 is more compact; the CR-1004 is better suited for professional clinical environments where dial legibility is a priority.
Is a stethoscope included?
No. A stethoscope is required for auscultatory blood pressure measurement but is not included with the CR-1004. Pair it with the Certeza CR-3004 Dual Head Rappaport Stethoscope or your preferred clinical stethoscope.
Is this device suitable for home use?
The CR-1004 is best suited for trained healthcare professionals and clinical settings. For home use without auscultatory training, a digital automatic monitor is generally more appropriate and easier to use accurately.
