The Beurer PO-80 is a premium fingertip pulse oximeter that combines accurate real-time SpO2 and heart rate monitoring with up to 24-hour continuous recording capability — making it one of the most capable personal oximeters available for home use. While standard pulse oximeters provide only spot-check readings, the PO-80 records SpO2 and pulse rate uninterruptedly throughout the day or night, storing the full dataset in its integrated memory for later analysis.

Recorded data transfers to a PC via the included USB cable and the free “SpO2 Assistant” software (downloadable from beurer.com, Windows 7 SP1 or higher), which displays measurements as detailed time-series graphs, enabling meaningful trend evaluation for sleep monitoring, overnight oximetry, and extended health tracking. A customisable signal alarm alerts the user — through both visual and acoustic signals — whenever SpO2 or heart rate readings fall outside individually set limit values, providing automated awareness even during unsupervised recording. The built-in rechargeable lithium-ion battery charges via USB, eliminating disposable batteries entirely. The XL colour display with four viewing orientations and adjustable brightness remains readable in any orientation or lighting. An optional pulse tone provides continuous audible pulse confirmation. At just 57 × 32 × 30 mm and approximately 42 g, the PO-80 is genuinely lightweight despite its capabilities. CE certified medical device. 5-year Beurer warranty. Metal storage box included. Available in Pakistan at Jarahi.

Why Choose Beurer Pulse Oximeter

  • 24-Hour Continuous Recording: Records SpO2 and heart rate uninterruptedly for up to 24 hours — for sleep monitoring, overnight oximetry, and extended activity tracking where spot-check devices are insufficient.
  • SpO2 Accuracy ±2% (70–100% range): Clinically validated accuracy — the same ±2% standard used across Beurer’s medical oximeter range, confirmed suitable for home monitoring.
  • “SpO2 Assistant” PC Software: Free downloadable software displays recorded data as time-series graphs for detailed evaluation. Transfer via USB cable (included). Windows 7 SP1 or higher required.
  • Signal Alarm with Individually Adjustable Limits: Set custom SpO2 and heart rate alarm thresholds — the device alerts visually and acoustically when readings deviate from your set limits during recording or real-time monitoring.
  • Optional Pulse Tone: Audible beep confirms each detected pulse beat in real time — useful when you cannot always look at the display.
  • XL Colour Display: Four viewing orientations and adjustable brightness — reads clearly in any hand position or room lighting.
  • Rechargeable Lithium-Ion Battery (USB): Built-in battery charges via USB cable — no disposable batteries ever needed.
  • Ultra-Lightweight: 57 × 32 × 30 mm, approx. 42 g — lighter than the PO-30 despite its additional features.
  • Particularly Suitable For: Heart failure, COPD, bronchial asthma, COVID-19 / long COVID, sleep apnoea, and high-altitude sports (mountaineering, skiing, sport aviation).
  • Automatic Switch-Off and Battery Status Indicator.
  • Metal Storage Box Included: Robust, protective case for the device and all accessories.
  • CE Medical Device Certified. 5-Year Beurer Warranty.

Usage Instructions

  1. Charge the PO-80 fully via USB before first use or extended recording sessions.
  2. Insert your index or middle finger fully into the clip sensor — fingertip width should be 10–20 mm, thickness 5–15 mm. The fingertip should reach the far end of the slot.
  3. The device powers on automatically when the finger is inserted. SpO2 and heart rate readings appear on the XL display within seconds.
  4. For standard spot-check readings: read the values displayed. Remove your finger — the device powers off automatically approximately 5 seconds after finger removal.
  5. For continuous recording: with the device on, hold the function button to access the settings menu. Navigate to recording mode and start the session. The PO-80 will record SpO2 and pulse rate continuously for up to 24 hours while worn on the finger.
  6. To set signal alarm limits: access the alarm menu via the settings menu. Set individual upper and lower threshold values for SpO2 and heart rate. The device will alert visually and acoustically if readings exceed these limits during monitoring.
  7. To transfer recorded data: connect the PO-80 to a PC via USB cable. Open the “SpO2 Assistant” software (downloaded from beurer.com) to download stored data and view time-series graphs and trend reports.
  8. Do not use continuously on one finger for longer than approximately 2 hours — rotate fingers if extended monitoring is needed.

Care and Storage Instructions

  • Wipe the exterior clean with a soft, slightly damp cloth. A mild cleaning solution may be used if needed.
  • Never immerse in water or hold under running water — the device is not waterproof.
  • Do not attempt to open or repair the device — repairs must only be carried out by Beurer Customer Services or an authorised retailer. Opening the device voids the warranty.
  • Store in the included metal storage box when not in use — this protects the device and all accessories from dust, impact, and moisture.
  • Keep away from heat sources and significant temperature fluctuations.
  • Charge the lithium-ion battery periodically even during periods of extended non-use, to maintain battery health.

Warnings and Precautions

  • For monitoring and wellness purposes only — not intended for medical diagnosis. Consult a healthcare professional for medical interpretation of all recordings and readings.
  • Do not self-diagnose or self-medicate based on measurements without consulting a doctor.
  • Nail polish, gel nails, false nails, or dark nail pigmentation on the measurement finger will prevent accurate SpO2 measurement — use an unpainted finger.
  • Remain still during measurement — movement causes inaccurate or failed readings.
  • Do not use on fingers with anatomical changes, oedemas, scars, or burns.
  • Do not use on patients who cannot hold still (e.g. trembling).
  • Poor circulation in the finger (cold extremities, low blood pressure) can prevent a successful reading — warm the hand first, or try a different finger.
  • Do not use continuously on one finger for longer than approximately 2 hours — prolonged use may cause discomfort, particularly in users with circulatory disorders.
  • Signal alarms are awareness alerts only — do not rely solely on alarm thresholds for medical management.
  • If SpO2 consistently reads below 95%, consult a healthcare professional promptly.
  • Keep out of reach of children.
  • Do not attempt self-repair — this voids the warranty.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can the PO-80 be used for overnight sleep monitoring?

Yes — this is one of the primary use cases for the PO-80. The 24-hour continuous recording mode captures SpO2 and heart rate uninterruptedly throughout the night while worn on the finger. The recorded data can then be transferred to a PC via USB and reviewed in the “SpO2 Assistant” software, which displays the full overnight SpO2 and pulse rate trace as a time-series graph. This allows patterns of nocturnal desaturation — which may indicate sleep apnoea or other sleep-disordered breathing — to be identified over time. For clinical sleep study purposes, results should always be reviewed by a qualified healthcare professional.

How does the signal alarm work?

In the settings menu, you can set individual upper and lower threshold values for both SpO2 and heart rate. When the PO-80 is in use or recording and a reading falls outside these limits — for example, if SpO2 drops below your set minimum — the device triggers both a visual alert on the display and an acoustic alarm beep. This provides automated awareness during monitoring sessions without requiring you to constantly watch the display. The alarm threshold values are stored in the device memory and remain set between sessions.

How do I download and use the “SpO2 Assistant” software?

Download the free “SpO2 Assistant” software from the Beurer website (beurer.com) under Service → Download Center → Software. Run the “SpO2Setup.exe” installer and follow the on-screen instructions. Connect the PO-80 to your PC via the included USB cable. Once connected, the software can display real-time measurements on your PC screen during recording, and transfer stored 24-hour recordings for detailed graphical evaluation and data management. The software requires Windows 7 SP1 or higher.

How does the PO-80 differ from the PO-30?

The PO-80 is a significantly more capable device than the PO-30. It adds: 24-hour continuous recording (PO-30 is spot-check only); “SpO2 Assistant” PC software with graphical data evaluation; a customisable signal alarm with individual SpO2 and heart rate thresholds; an optional pulse tone; and a built-in rechargeable lithium-ion battery (PO-30 uses 2 × AAA). The PO-80 is also lighter (42 g vs 57 g). Both share the same ±2% SpO2 accuracy, CE medical certification, 5-year warranty, colour display with 4 orientations, and adjustable brightness. Choose PO-80 for extended monitoring, sleep oximetry, alarm functionality, and data analysis; choose PO-30 for simple, cost-effective daily spot-checks.

What warranty does the PO-80 come with?

The Beurer PO-80 comes with a 5-year warranty — consistent with Beurer’s standard warranty across their medical device range and significantly longer than most competing pulse oximeters. The warranty covers manufacturing defects and applies worldwide from the date of purchase. Full terms are detailed in the instruction manual supplied with the device.
